Honoured to be photographed with Her Royal Highness Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang

It was a late lunch and I arrived at 2.15 pm with Loh Lee Lee and her son Kenny Loh of Lord's Tailor.

Renoma Cafe was practically empty which suited Her Royal Highness as she prefers a less crowded restaurant after the rush hour so she could treat her guests in a relaxed atmosphere.

There was no particular reason for the lunch which in a way made it even more special!

"I invited you as we met unexpectedly at ASEANA Cafe with Dato Farah Khan," said Her Royal Highness Sultanah Kalsom. "I also wanted you to meet Sara who is writing a book featuring Orphancare of which I am Patron and also Sharifah Mohd Ismail, president of Institute of Marketing Malaysia."

Sultanah Kalsom invited us to order anything we liked on the menu except 2 things---Coke and dessert!

Her Royal Highness is adamant such fizzy drinks are unhealthy and even brings her own alkaline water inside a pretty plastic flask that has the word 'LOVE' edged in crystals. Of course I stared at the bottle and Sultanah Kalsom laughed and said, "I can see the look in your eye, Kee! I will get you a bottle next time I am in London as I think you will look great walking around KL holding it!"

The second dictum is that Her Royal Highness had brought dessert!

Smiled Sultanah Kalsom, "I specially asked Sara to bake this tiramisu for us to enjoy at dessert! I hope Renoma Cafe is not upset we are not ordering their desserts which are also very nice but I want to introduce you to Sara's cooking.

"Sara and her French husband own Pastis Cafe at The Gardens MidValley. Sara's husband is a chef and I shall invite us to Pastis Cafe after my London trip.

"Meanwhile, we shall enjoy tiramisu cake from Pastis Cafe."

Sultanah Kalsom is always helping and supporting other people which is so kind and caring of her. More so when she takes the time and effort to make sure the venues are worth promoting by experiencing and going there herself!

From Renoma Cafe I ordered mushroom soup which was thick and creamy. It smelled delicious and the taste matched the fragrance! For mains, I had Duck Confit which came with my choice of pasta. The duck leg was fabulous and perfectly cooked so it was not too dry or under-done. Another Renoma Cafe dish I recommend is their burger! Oh, I always think of it when I am at McDonald's and Burger King! The Renoma Cafe burger is RM 40 which is nearly 4 times more than fast food!

As for the tiramisu, it was thumbs up from all of us! Sultanah Kalsom beamed as Loh Lee Lee, Kenny Loh, Sharifah Mohd Ismail and I sighed in  contentment as we demolished the cake. I had 2 helpings as I wanted room for the chocolate cake Her Royal Highness had also brought!

Congratulations Sara Ismail on your tiramisu which was divine as it was not sugary but the light sweetness was there.

Sharifah Mohd Ismail of Institute of Marketing Malaysia is organising a 3-day, 2 night marketing seminar and experiential learning course in Bali from 23 to 25 May.

Called Marketing 3.0, this seminar teaches how to transform product-centric to customer-centric to human-centric! Even more amazing, you will learn how spiritual marketing can be used as a powerful sales strategy. The 'Sustainable Marketing' talk will be conducted by none other than the Royal Prince of Ubud himself Prince Dr Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati.

Participants will also visit the acclaimed 'Marketing 3.0 Museum, the only marketing museum in the world! The fee is RM 2,000 for early birds excluding airfare and hotel. Contact 03-7876 3726 or imm.malaysia@gmail.com.

Sultanah Kalsom ordered 3 plates of different salads from Renoma Cafe and ate lightly. She had a tea meeting but bade us to remain and finish our food and coffee.

We escorted Her Royal Highness to her Mercedes-Benz and returned to our table for the  mopping up operation as good food should never be wasted.

So now I am waiting and hoping Sultanah Kalsom will remember to invite me to Pastis Cafe in The Gardens!
