YES, IT DOES REQUIRE A LITTLE EFFORT TO USE LAMPE BERGER AS IT IS NOT AS STRAIGHTFORWARD AS SPRAYING A ROOM WITH A CAN OF AIR FRESHENER OR LIGHTING A SCENTED CANDLE!

But aficionados swear the act of preparing a Lampe Berger is a lovely and easy ritual that becomes part of your daily life.

It is like brushing your teeth or showering twice or thrice daily or watering the potted plants. We don't think twice about it! Similarly, many wake at dawn to prepare breakfast and drive the kids to school when the bed is so inviting!

HOW TO USE LAMPE BERGER

       The Lampe Berger was the creation of Maurice Berger in 1898. The lamp uses the catalytic combustion to purify the surrounding air as it burns. Fuel consisting of fragrance mixed with an isopropyl alcohol base is heated and diffused into the surrounding air, bonding at the molecular level with odor-causing impurities and turning them to harmless water and carbon dioxide. The Lampe Berger works like an ordinary oil lamp and requires nothing more than the right fuel and a match to significantly improve the smell and purity of the air in a room.

    *   Use the supplied plastic funnel and pour any Lampe Berger oil into the  lamp to half or two-thirds full.

     *  Push the cotton wick into the lamp and submerge in the oil. Close the cap to keep oil from evaporating.

      * Allow the wick to soak in the oil for 20 minutes to ensure it is completely saturated.

       *Remove the cap from the burner element. Use a match or lighter to light small flame. Let the burner element burn around 2 minutes until it turns from iron gray to white.

     *  Blow out the flame. The heat of the burner causes the lamp fuel to travel up the wick and diffuse into the air through the slotted cover and attach to bacteria and other odor-causing particles in the air. Move the lamp from room to room to treat more than one room.

       *After 1 or 2 hours or when desired, replace the top cap over the burner to stop the diffusion process, effectively turning it off. 

        The lamp does not have to be completely cooled before capping.
