Artists and friends celebrate the 21^st Anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation

On 4 September 2014 in Woodside, England, Sir Elton John and David Furnish opened the doors of their wonderful Old Windsor home this evening for the first ever Woodside ‘End of Summer’ Party, held in association with Chopard.

This exclusive private event welcomed a stunning array of guests, including a number of celebrities sparkling in Chopard creations, such as Elizabeth Hurley, David Gandy, and Sofia Wellesley.Other guests included James Blunt, Lara Stone and David Walliams, Patrick Cox, ElieGoulding and Pixie Lott.

To celebrate the 21^st Birthday of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Chopard is collaborating with the organisation to mark this special occasion in true style. The Woodside ‘End of Summer’ party was the first of its kind, a fun and relaxed event, a great opportunity for friends to regroup after the long summer break and enjoy exquisite food, entertainment and music, all within the gardens that surround Elton John and David Furnish’s home.

Upon entry guests were welcomed by a drinks reception with a classic summer atmosphere amidst a fun world that brought together classic antiques and quirky geometric prints. Guests had the pleasure of sipping on a Grey Goose Le Fizz, or a Grey Goose bespoke cocktail inspired by a perfume especially created for the event to recall the ‘End of Summer’.

The garden offered a quintessentially English feel, decked with beautiful flowers and ornaments whilst shying away from convention and presenting a warm and relaxed atmosphere. During the cocktail in the garden guests were surprised by an amazing line-up of acoustic entertainment, amongst them were Gary Barlow, Tom Odell, James Blunt, Chrissie Hynde, Alfie Boe and of course, Elton John himself.

After the cocktail, a special carpet, lined with models adorned in stunning Chopard Haute Joaillerie creations led the way to a seated dinner served in a glass conservatory overlooking the lake.During the meal, guests had the opportunity to pledge to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation and enter a draw to win an array of exceptional gifts including a Lot of two Chopard watches, for men and women.

After dinner, guests had the pleasure of strolling around the lake and setting up areas with picnic rugs and glowing lanterns. Throughout the evening guests also hadthe use of Chopard Rickshaws at their disposal as a convenient means of transportation to and from the party’s different locations.

As the evening drew to a close, guests were invited to enjoy the Grey Goose Martini Room as well as an extraordinary night club - Grey Goose La Nuit des Étoiles - with a live set from the infamous DJ Fatboy Slim. The dance floor was illuminated by an outstanding multi-coloured fibre optic light structure, beneath guests were welcometo dance the night away!

The Elton John AIDS Foundation is one of the foremost independent AIDS charities in the world. We fund frontline programmes that help to alleviate the pain - whether physical, emotional or financial - of those living with, affected by or at risk of HIV/AIDS.

Since its establishment in 1993, the UK Foundation has grown from funding solely domestic programmes, to providing grants in 23 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. One of our core priorities is preventing mothers from transmitting the HIV virus to their babies. Programmes we have funded in nine countries have protected more than 100,000 babies in this way, helping to make the next generation AIDS-free.

Chopard and the EJAF:

Chopard Co-President Caroline Scheufele met Sir Elton John during a chance encounter and their mutual love for charity work was realised. On a whim he suggested she play an active role within the foundation. This meeting marked the start of a lasting friendship and a brilliant creative relationship.
