Other than the grand title, Voon Khong also brought home three subsidiary titles--- Mr Photogenic, Mr Talent and Best Resort Wear. For the talent round, he played the GuQin, a 5000-year-old traditional Chinese musical instrument.

Mr Diversity Culture International was founded in Aukland, New Zealand in 2012. It has grown to become a global event since then which involves culture, fashion, arts and entertainment.

Participants are evaluated based on cultural presentation, PR skills, talent, catwalk, fashion, body and fitness. The pageant carries a mission to bring together representatives from a wide range of communities and cultures from all over the world to share common values, develop cultural understanding and awareness, and foster international friendship.

A law graduate from University of London, Voon Khong is also an International Lifesaver (International Life Saving Federation) and possesses an International Yoga Instructor Certification.

Moreover, he appeared in several advertisements in Malaysia, and acted in several theatre plays. He can speak 5 languages and dialects (Mandarin, English, Malay, Cantonese and Hakka) and is currently learning French, Italian and Persian. During his free time, he likes to do sports and play music.

“One thing I like the most about the Philippines is the people – they are genuinely warm, friendly and patient. Wherever I went, I was welcomed and greeted with smiles.”

“During the competition, we visited many centuries-old churches, and probably it is the Filipinos’ faith in religion that makes them always happy and optimistic,” Voon Khong said when recalling the time he spent in the Philippines.

“We were invited to politicians’ offices and houses for meals and I was surprised to discover how enthusiastic the politicians in the Philippines were in supporting events which promote beauty, fashion and arts. This is very different from my country, Malaysia.”

Talking about what is his next step after winning the title, Voon Khong said “I am open to any option and suggestion, but the training for this pageant makes me discover my love and passion for stage performing.

"At the moment, there is nothing in this world which will make my heart beat excitedly other than performing in front of hundreds and thousands of people. I kinda start  enjoying the adrenalin rush! I hope to try more acting though, starting from theatre plays.”
