Welcome the year of the Fire Rooster with family, friends, and business partners over signature yee sang and delectable festive menus at Lai Po Heen, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. Embark on a delightful Oriental culinary journey prepared by Chef Ricky Thein and team from now until 28 February 2016.

Join in the ritual of tossing yee sang for prosperity, good fortune, and health and enjoy either any of the five yee sang namely Australian lobster in kumquat dressing; Octopus and assorted vegetables; Soft shell crab and snow pear; salmon and assorted vegetables; and Assorted vegetables with shredded fruits in sesame dressing available during lunch and dinner from RM 88 nett to RM 368 nett for half portion and full portion respectively.

Lai Po Heen offers three exclusive set menus for the festive season namely Fortune, Prosperity and Wealth that are priced at RM 288, RM 388 and RM 488 nett per person respectively. The Fortune and Prosperity menus require a minimum of four diners. Each dish in the Wealth menu is individually plated and requires a minimum of two diners.

Deep fried crispy chicken stuffed with fish paste and almond flakes Wok fried buttered Ming prawns with chicken floss, egg and curry leaf Lai Po Heen’s Chinese New Year “Fatt Choy” and sun-fried seafood pot Fried basmati rice with Chinese waxed meat and seafood

Batter fried glutinous rice cakes with cheese and red bean ice cream


Wealth

Double boiled fish maw and morel mushroom soup with Peruvian maca Smoked duck drumstick with glutinous rice and sea treasures stuffing Wok-fried blue river prawn with tomatoes and chili sauce

Slow cooked 6-head whole Australian abalone with sea cucumber served with pan fried Matsutake mushroom

Wok-fried fragrant rice cakes with Hokkaido scallop and spicy chili paste Chilled kumquat pudding and deep fried sesame lava ball with Oreo stuffing

Dim Sum aficionados will be pleased to learn that Chef Ricky and his dim sum masters have specially crafted two menus for the season. The Longevity Dim Sum set will tempt any palate with Steamed seafood and chicken Siew Mai with baby abalone; Steamed bean curd skin rolls filled with minced prawns and chicken in barbeque sauce; Steamed fluffy buns filled with barbeque chicken; Golden fried prawn and mango rolls with bread crumbs; Seafood dumpling soup with yellow chives; Braised fish maw with wild mushrooms, sea moss and garden greens;



Slow cooked corn fed chicken with pepper and basil, served in clay pot; Fried jasmine rice with Chinese waxed meat and sun-dried tomatoes; and Chilled mango puree with palm seed, pomelo drops and vanilla ice cream.

The Happiness Dim Sum set on the other hand allow diners to savour Steamed prawn and water chestnut dumplings with gold leaf; Pan fried Shanghai dumplings filled with seafood, chicken and crab meat; Steamed cod fish and prawn dumplings filled with spicy shrimp sauce; Crispy breaded foie gras dumplings; Pan fried bean curd rolls filled with shrimps and cheese;

Traditional sea treasure soup with dumplings; Oil poached corn fed chicken with Chef’s creation dipping sauce; Braised money bag filled with sea treasures and wok fried garden greens; Fried fragrant rice cakes with seafood and spicy chili sauce; and Double boiled peach resin tea with five treasures.

Available for lunch only, both menus are priced at RM 168 and RM 228 nett per person respectively, with a minimum of four diners.
